Driving Behavior and CAN-/FMS-Analysis

Gain insight into the driving behavior of your drivers. Think of the use of cruise control, fuel consumption, braking behavior, speed and more. Save directly on fuel costs, maintenance costs and CO2 emissions.

Smart analysis of Driving Behavior and CAN-/FMS-data

With FleetGO, you can easily retrieve valuable vehicle data via the FMS interface or directly via the CAN-bus. Think about fuel consumption, fuel level, tire pressure and scheduled maintenance, all available in one clear platform. In addition, our solution offers comprehensive driver behavior analysis that allows you to objectively assess and improve driver behavior. Suitable for every type of vehicle, from trucks and commercial vehicles to coaches and passenger cars. One solution for all vehicles.

Driver Coaching Rapport

The driving style analysis provides insight into your drivers’ driving habits and indicates areas for improvement. Do your drivers use cruise control? How often and how does that compare to other drivers? What is the gear change behaviour based on RPM? What is the average speed over a period of time? All these are important data that are useful for both the back office and the drivers to do the job even better, faster, safer and more efficiently. Helpful and educational for your drivers, cost-saving for the organisation.

Driving behavior in view

In addition to understanding driving behavior through reporting, FleetGO allows you to see exactly where and when drivers showed abnormal driving behavior. For example, it looks at braking behavior, acceleration, cornering behavior and speed. This information is displayed directly on the map, so you know exactly where it happened.

Based on various parameters, the score is then determined over a certain period of time. You can share the individual assessment of drivers on their driving behavior with the drivers to then help them improve.

Driving style assistant in the Drivers App

Through a Bluetooth link, your CAN-bus data is read and fed back to the driver. This convenient link actively supports your driver in the Drivers App to improve their driving style. How does your driver handle acceleration, cruise control and braking? How economically do vehicles get from A to B and how well does a driver anticipate? The Driving Style Assistant answers these questions and provides feedback via color icons or sound signals to the driver.

Reduction in fuel consumption

About one-third of the costs incurred within logistics organisations come from fuel consumption. The FleetFMS report provides insight into fuel consumption and points out areas for improvement. For example, you can immediately see which vehicle consumes below or above average. The distance traveled versus fuel per km or 100 km is also clearly displayed. This data can be viewed in realtime and exported as a PDF.

You also get a clear overview of CO₂ emissions on the dashboard. Real-time data on emissions, trends and targets are accessible, giving users quick insight into their impact on CO₂ emissions.

Driving style coaching by professionals

We work with our partners to get as much and good insight into your drivers’ driving habits as possible. The benefits? Think about fuel savings by changing driving behavior with driving style coaching, reduced CO2 emissions and a safer working environment for drivers. Our partners are specialized in this and provide the best data for our users.

CAN-/FMS-data for reliable analysis

With our unique FleetGO CubiQ, we can read and analyze key vehicle information via FMS or CAN-bus. We use this data to analyze driver behavior and provide insight for driver and fleet manager. For example, speeds driven, standstill times and mileage are recorded. Cornering behavior and acceleration and braking behavior are also measured. All these aspects together provide a clear picture of the driving behavior of the drivers. Is there a link to the FMS? Then we read out much more data, including the use of cruise control, braking, coasting, gas pedal position and much more.

What is FMS-data?

Fleet Management System (FMS) is a standard interface in which all vehicle data of commercial vehicles can be viewed, such as vehicle information and fuel consumption.

A lot of FMS-data, vehicle data that is measured, can be extracted from the vehicle. We have listed the most important elements below.

Does the vehicle not support an FMS-interface? Then the CAN-bus offers a solution.

The mileage

The tachograph information

The distance driven

The roll-out distance

Total fuel consumption

The average fuel consumption

The average, driven speed

The cruise control use

Hard braking

PTO information

Tell Tale status and signals

Real-time insight via the CAN-bus

Through the CAN-bus (Controller Area Network) we can receive additional data. This is available on all trucks, many other commercial vehicles and passenger cars. Depending on the type and model, we make a wide range of vehicle data available in real time. For example, we receive the vehicle’s mileage, fuel consumption, RPM and tank content. For electric cars, battery percentage, charge level and range is available.

Fuel consumption of the PTO

Power take off, or PTO, can have a significant impact on fuel consumption. Understanding helps make smart use of the PTO. Is your vehicle equipped with a PTO? If so, you also want insight into fuel consumption when the PTO is engaged. When the PTO is engaged and under maximum load, it has a significant impact on fuel consumption. FleetGO shows exactly when the PTO is engaged and displays the consumption of the PTO in smart reports.

Encourage environmentally friendly driving

You have a clear dashboard with all the information about the driving behavior of the drivers and the fleet. Performance can be broken down further, so you can see at a glance which driver or vehicle stands out particularly. This can be done through a ranking, as well as on an individual level. Share the reports with your drivers to give them insight into their driving habits and promote greener driving.

Environmentally conscious driving: at least 10% savings

Understanding driving performance through green driving and changing driving behavior to eco-friendly driving leads in practice to a 10% saving in fuel costs and CO2 emissions. This percentage can be further increased by driving training with one of our partners. If drivers are trained by one of our partners, savings of 15-20% are possible. In addition, the risk of damage and accidents is reduced and maintenance and repair costs will decrease.
